Bali for Kids.com is a free web magazine for parents, kids and anyone interested in what's up in Bali - not just for kids.

How it all started:

We were a group of moms who had all the same problem. What to do if you are a mom and have hardly any social contacts? Regular you missing out the best things, as they only get promoted word by mouth. So the idea was born to start an easy for everybody to access network. What better than to use the internet? Almost everybody is online these days. July 22nd 2006 we sent out the first mail on behalf of Bali for Kids.com. For our first 3 months we set up just a small directory and an event-calendar. As we all love to write and we all got to say something we all were writing little bits and pieces we sent out on our advertising e-mails. Each week we sent mails and soon many people responded, telling us they very interested in what we writing. Slowly the idea was raising to do more than just a directory. But what and how? To put out a printed media? Non of us had the capital, the experience. That was the moment we got an e-mail from Peter from Hongkong. He is running an online magazine in Hongkong called "Holistic Hongkong", which is very popular in HK. Peter advised us to set up an online magazine. Within only two weeks all the artwork was done and in September Bali for Kids.com became a magazine. Online only. No tree is cut for Bali for Kids.com. No transport is used to distribute. We all loved the idea to be eco friendly. Mails got sent out to hundreds of people each month. Soon thousands. By now we sending mails to almost 7000 mail accounts world wide each month once. Very little people sent us an "unsubscribe", many people sent us mails to ask for advise or help or just to tell us they like what we doing. We are happy to give something to parents. But most of all... we are happy to help some children in making there parents understand. Or simply to help parents to find events to join with their kids. We hear that our Goggle rank is quite good if people looking for subjects with kids and Bali. Great!

We hope in the future we will improve our services. We still looking and finding better ways to sent our mails. More adds - our goal are 300 of the hot spots for kids and parents in Bali. Lots of health tips for the whole family. A very important part of our work. We are happy to be able to give parents a clear idea of what is right and wrong. Magazines today are in general paid by advertising. Production costs are high, so they have to follow up. Bali for Kids.com has non of these problems. We are free to put on our web site the adds we like. We checking each place and business if we want to support it on Bali for Kids.com. It makes us free to write the way we like. Thanks to all those who support us in placing an advertising. Many asked already, but we cannot take all. One place which asked us is now improving the kids service and probably 3 month they will be on Bali for Kids.com. Cool, yeah! Getting things moving...

About Bali: Enjoy your stay in Bali. Bali is a wonderful place with lots of magic. Many people who stay in the busy downtown areas only often forget what Bali is really like. Plan at least once a month a trip out into the real Bali. Remember Bali is not a warehouse for your needs. It is a magic and spiritual place first. It is a magic place for kids for sure. Children in Bali can grow up in a multi culturally society. Nearly each ethnic group is found in Bali. Racism is complete unknown. Respect the people you working with. They are Bali. Remember how much the world was learning from Bali after the Bali Bombings. Imagine how much you can learn if you have a closer look....

Bali for Kids.com is handled by editor Ni Lah. Writing the newsletters and handling most of the set ups. Additional she writes the Heal the Planet for our Kids!.
