Club Med in Nusa Dua

Being at the Club Med in Nusa Dua was outstanding fabulous and when we had to leave we felt sad, that our time there is over! Knowing that it is not far, we will for sure come back. But lets take it from the beginning... Upon arrival at the Club Med we went down to join the kids in the Mini Club Med were they will spent the day. 5 minutes after check in, the kids moved to the Circus Area to have some goes on the Trapeze. They had such a great swinging on the Trapeze high over the ground. We left them with the Mini Club, which was off for swimming, kayaking and hanging out on the beach until lunch time. I took off to have some quite time on the beach, which is very nice set up - a big lagoon, sun beds with lots of space for privacy and shade. Little bonus is that the Club Med not yet has Jet skies, so it is still really quite on the beach and a good place to relax. For lunch time I joined all the others at the restaurant. The food choices are incredible and Club Med serves food for all tastes. My plate was filled with fresh fish in 4 different ways, about 5 different salads, dips, some pasta, a piece of pizza. For dessert we had little bits and pieces from the fruit, ice cream and cake site. So Yummy! With a wonderful feeling in our tummies we took off for Tennis. The courts were all for us and it was so much fun to just play around and have fun. Over the week-end we all became Tennis fans, so we will go on playing it at home. Kids went to the Mini Club again. As it was almost 16h - time was flying - I decided to go to the Trapeze and give it a try myself. Do it! That's all I can say! Just do it! After the big excitement, back to the beach were all the kids and parents meet to watch the kids doing "Club Med Asian Games". With kids putting chop sticks in bottles and finding treasures in the sand, all had a big laugh and fun. Barbeque and drinks next to us - it was like a big beach picnic. We had a wonderful time. Than it was time for finally get into our room, have shower and a little rest. When dinner was calling - as well as our tummies - we enjoyed another plate of treats and another plate of sweats. After dinner their was a great family game show in the big Club Med theatre. We lost, but it was so much fun, that we didn't mind. The adult show in the evening was fun, full of entertainment for all sort of styles. I have to admit: Club Med has really the right way of making families happy. Sunday came with so much to do: For the kids: Golf, Archery, Swimming, Trapeze and the preparations for the fashion show at night. Mom went off for beach time, some fitness, a squash match with a mom I meet. It was great. Within a day I meet a lot of really nice people from all over the world. Chatted with moms from all over the world and enjoyed all the great things the Club Med offers. The biggest credit I have to give Frederic Cabot, the GM and all his staff for being the nicest service, feeling and ways I have ever experienced in a hotel. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff excellent trained and motivated at all times. "All is possible at Club Med!" Even extreme situations were handled with a calm and friendly attitude. Really absolutely outstanding. Additional I have seen not one miserable face the whole weekend, which for sure comes from the atmosphere created in the Club Med. If you like to join on a day or night pass, or spent your holidays at the Club Med, I really can recommend it as a family and kids place for families at all ages or single parents who feel like having a rest and a little time for themselves. Club Med in Bali has managed to find the right balance for your family holidays or day-off. We sure are back soon on a day pass for more fun. Check Club Med out on our Holidays - Page - Next month: Villa Manuk in Singaraja!

Bali Eco Village

Bali Mountain adventures... We had a stunning week-end at Bali Eco Village. . Located in the mountains, close to a small village called Belok, Bali Eco Village has a lot to offer to families. Once we arrived after a wonderful trip though villages and a stunning view over from Bali's highest bridge, we arrived at BEV and loved it right away. We checked in our bungalow, which is outstanding creative made and decorated with many wonderful items from Irian Jaya. Most furniture is made from bamboo and the fire place invited for a nice evening. After we moved in, we decided to go on a walk down to the river, which is a natural walk all the way down to a wonderful clear river, where we all splashed around in the refreshing water. Wow! It was a fabulous side and the kids loved the experience of climbing over rocks and jumping into a river. When we came back we had a lovely little snack and some fresh juices and the kids run off to visit the horses before lunch time. Lunch was fresh made for use with lots of vegetables from the garden and there were some pumpkin ravioli, what an incredible taste. Gourmet food in remote Bali! Afternoon the horse ride was on and the smaller kids just had a little ride on the ponies, while we and the bigger kids who had already some riding experience took off for a wonderful ride though the hills around BEV. It was great and the horses had a good mood and fun with us. After the horse ride we all took of for our first spa treatments, massages and some lovely other treatments in the spa. Even the kids enjoyed it and said: Can we do that tomorrow again? For dinner we all meet with the other guests in the wonderful restaurant which is the famous bamboo dome you see on all the pictures from BEV. A real special building... The kids wanted to learn billiard and so we sat down at the fire place and some of us showed the kids how to play, but when dinner was set up nobody stayed back, all enjoyed again the treats BEV had prepared for us. The day ended with very tried children and adults snuggling into the comfortable beds and fast asleep. Sunday was very special too, we visited the herbal garden, had a great Yoga session in the studio and went for a tracking up a mountain, which was for all of us an incredible experience. There were still many things we did not had time to do, but another visit will bring us back and BEV told us, they soon will have camping for the kids, so more fun to come. Bali Eco Stay in Saribuana

We are in love... That's for sure! Bali Eco Stay up in the hills of Batu Caru has taken us instantly. It is quite a drive up there, but more than worth. I stopped counting after 300 bumps in the road, but the beauty of the remote Bali area and looking forward for some great time away from home was getting us up there. The last curve and we have been fully enchanted: Green, green, green and in it the most lovely place. After checking into our breathtaking bungalow, with view all the way down to the ocean over rice fields and rainforest, we took a tour around the resort: The stunning bungalows, as natural as can be, the water generator, which produces 70% of the electricity used in the resort, the natural water swimming pool, the fish ponds and organic garden and the restaurant, where it was time for lunch. A wonderful open kitchen invites guests to have a look into the chief's pots and pans and for kids the kitchen is an open space to get food supplies if hunger calls, the staff in Bali Eco Stay loves kids, you can feel it right away. The kids took off after lunch playing around the little streams across the resort. So much for them to explore and see, what excitement... It was Saturday afternoon, so the local kids came for free Silat class, sponsored by Bali Eco Stay. After Silat we meet KAKE... Kake teach us how to do Balinese baskets, with such passion and love on the Bali Bale, we did not want to leave him again, little rain felt around us while Kake, me and the kids made baskets. It was totally enchanting. Bali Eco Stay is super kids friendly and you can relax and let your kids play all over the place. Dinner was a nice meet and greet with everybody, we enjoyed organic and healthy local food, but also some Pizzas came around and we all ended up playing Monopoly around the table. The night called soon, with little rain and wonderful sound of water around our room, sleep was coming fast after all those activities and lots of fresh air. Sunday morning was early and hunger was big. We caught up with another family and decided to go on a walk though forest and rice fields. Alit, a lovely local guide, showed us plants, animals and for sure the way and it was such fun. The kids were blown away by hiking though rivers and steep hills, they did not mind the two hours trip. Alit introduced us to his home side and even for an Bali oldie there was a lot of new stuff to learn. Lunch was ready once we been back and the kids had a swim in the pool to refresh. Afternoon was rest for the big ones and lots of more playing for the kids. We all felt like we landed in paradise! Even we stayed almost 3 days, we hardly could do 10% of what Bali Eco Stay offers: Mountain biking, many different hikes, fishing, coconut oil making, massages and many more... but one thing was for sure: It has been incredible. Everybody was so nice, the resort is very well run and set up, personal care is taken for all your requests and it is one of the most kids friendly places I have been too. Additional they really have transformed the word ECO into the resort, so thumps up for Bali Eco Stay! - Want to go there too? Check them out on our Holiday - Page!

Pondok Sari in Permuteran North Bali

The north of Bali has wonderful places to spent your holidays with your kids. One of the main area is Permuteran close to Singaraja. But there are far more and very beautiful places, where you can enjoy a wonderful time with your family. We were taking off to Permuteran to visit Pondok Sari, a boutique resort right on the beach. Pondok Sari attrackts mostly divers and with an inhouse diving school, it is easy to enjoy the terrific underwater world of north Bali. Kids from the age of 12 years can learn to dive or if they are already experienced can go out on dives with their parents. the riffs around Ponkok Sari and Permuteran are wonderful and rich of unique sea life. But also if you not into diving, Pondok Sari has a lot to offer to families. With almost 40 rooms, which include 1 private villa, which is an old javanese house, which has been renovated and rebuild to be an outstanding antique holiday stay. Pondok Sari has catched my eye personally, as it is wonderfullly created, almost like fairy world, but Bali style. Old Indonesian houses, as well as normal bounglows, each single one has been ornamented beautifully. Don't miss out the toilett in Pondok Sari's restaurant - a jewel in details. For kids there is lots of space to play, run and have fun. Pondok Sari's guest relation manager told me in high season there can be up to 16 - 20 kids playing around Pondok Sari, wow! Pondok Sari sponsors local traditional dance education for children and as a part of it, they do regular perform in Pondok Sari's restaurant and I am sure your kids will enjoy the lovely show the kids have put together. The menu in Pondok Sari is rich and includes local as well as Western food, so your kids can get any kind of food they wish. Outside Pondok Sari you can explore the National Park, but you will have to book a guide to bring you around in the park. Pondok Sari can help you to find the right guide for you and your famlily. Trips can take 1 to 6 hours and show different areas and wildlife of the park. For those who simply want to relax and have a quite family holiiday away from the normal hussle and buzzle, Pondok Sari offers a big beach to walk for hours, snorkling and a big tree with sunbeds underneath, so your kids can wonderfully play in the half shade of the beach. Pondok Sari is a very kids friendly resort with lots of style and we are sure you will enjoy your family holidays in this wonderful created place up in Permuteran.
