Pelangi School is a private, non-profit alternative education center close to central Ubud. As parent initiated billingual community school, Pelangi prides itself on its emphasis on Holisitc education and its small Adult/Child Ratio of 1-12. The British National Curriculum is combined with KBK (Indonesian National Curriculum), taught in English and Bahasa Indonesia. We provide a creative learning experience for all children, addressing their social, emotional, moral, intellectual, physical and artistic development: multicultural, creative and student-centered. We offer a flexible program, with an emphasis on artistic expression and social and environmental awareness. We serve a mixed population of children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
Is a community-based open arts space for children and families who would like to nurture their creativity through the arts and build up a peaceful multi-cultural community in Bali. Started in 2011 by Susiawan (visual artist) and Susan Allen (drama & movement artist), who have 20+ years experience in the area of arts education, children’s activities, community participation, alternative social, cultural and environmental education in Indonesia and Canada. Most materials used at Yellow Coco will be non-toxic, recycled, reused and natural. (Recycled paper, natural paint and natural dyes will be produced on site).A Bilingual Children’s Library, a Natural Toy Library and a Children’s Garden and organic market will also be part of the site!
