MISSION POSSIBLE - Karangasem Special Children's Unit
Mission Statement:
To recognize, re-enforce and support the efforts of the staff and residents at the Karangasem Special Children’s Unit; to rehabilitate, educate and nurture incarcerated children ages 10 – 17 years; to help those who are already helping to redeem and better themselves. It is a fully private initative to help the children at the Children Unit in Karangsem.
Mission Strategy:

• Provide comfortable and substantial sleeping quarters
• Assist the staff with their current efforts to educate through the provision of books, reading materials and teaching instruction
• Ensure that every child can read, write and count to a minimum 3rd grade level through “train the trainer” instruction of existing inmates with secondary level education.
• Support the music program through provision of musical instruments and a music system
• Create art programs through provision of materials and teaching instruction to the guards and resident older children, which in turn will be passed on to the other residents
• Support existing programs providing sustainable vegetable and food replenishment
• Create a sense of belonging, pride and team spirit through provision of daily and sporting uniforms and sporting activities
• To instill our motto: “If you do good things, good things will come to you… if you do bad things, bad things will come to you… so do GOOD THINGS!”
