The Sun -Beauty, Health and Happiness

SUN, just the word is lifting up my mood. What is nicer than to wake up in the morning with sun beams in your bedroom and knowing the day will be nice and warm? For me - nearly nothing! When I was still living back in Europe, September used to be a bad time for me. My mood would drop down to depression. Facing 6 months of darkness, cold weather, rain and most of all - no sun - was terrible for me. And still. When clouds are to long hanging over Bali my mood goes down and life is far not so bride.

For more than 20 years now I study about the influence of the sun on our life. Most of all on our health. Without sun what would we be? Not existing! In Russia mine workers getting UV light by law after working shifts to produce enough vitamin D and all the other stuff they missing out working underground. And you? Do you get enough sunlight?

Media again has done so much damage to the image of the sun. Sure the sun got stronger trough the holes in the Oxon, but we also adjusting to the higher radiation. Human kind can take lots of radiation, more than you might think. Once a friend of mine who worked on a 3000m high mountain had an accident. He had to get his spine x-rayed once every hour for 1 week. When he asked the doctors about the high level of radiation he was exposed to, the doctor just laughed and said: "You working on 3000m? The radiation you getting from one day working there is 100 times higher than all the x-rays we did on you over the last week."

So what is all the panic about? Again, business. And bad habits. And bad education. Business, do you know how much million $ worldwide is spend for sun creams and stuff like that. I guess it is a pretty big market. Bad habits. We just all eating the wrong way. If you eat well, than the sun cannot trigger you at all. Also some people think going in the sun once a month is enough, but than please 8 hours. Well, if you than get sunburned it is quite normal. Do that several times in your life and you a candidate for skin cancer. Bad education. Magazines and TV telling us today only the bad stuff about the sun. More holes in the ozone, more pollution. Fear is a good market for them. Who is promoting the sun?

I put you some facts together to help you to understand where we doing major mistakes in our relationship to the sun:

# 1: If you have a healthy diet the sun cannot do lots of damage to you. Avoid wheat, sugar, meat, milk products, nuts, polyunsaturated fat (such as Sunflower seed Oil, Cottonseed Oil, Olive Oil (yes too) Corn - and Soybean Oil). Eat lots of carrots (they have lots of natural beta-carotine - the best sun block you can get and they give the skin a wonderful theign), vitamin C from food you eat and oils (coconut oil, butter, tallow, rapeseed oil and castor oil), vegetable (green leafy) and fruits (Bananas, Apricots).

# 2: Do not use any sun cream, sun blocker, etc. Yes! Media again. They all telling us do not go without a sun block at least 30 or up in the sun. I am sorry, but this is nonsense. The creams are actually causing genetic changes in the skin, which... surprise, surprise... lead to skin cancer! I often see mothers putting on their kids sun blocker. Their kids always cry, protest or run off. Clever kids! I have the feeling the kids know it is not good for them. Use coconut oil at least 1 hour before you go in the sun and than again after sunbathing and a shower. Coconut oil gives your skin all it needs to protect and nurture your skin.

# 3: If you eat well and enjoy the sun at least 30 minutes a day - it is the best protection for cancer you can get. Believe it or not! It is true. Sunlight activates your immune system and the oxygen in the tissues. This is very important to produce antibodies. Lots of cancer types do not like oxygen and they will stop growing and finally disappear.

# 4: Children need to get in the sun to not develop a Vitamin D deficiency. Actually Vitamin D is a hormone. Hormones are there to regulate the delicate balances in the body. Artificial Vitamin D is dangerous. It can cause damage in arteries, in unborn babies congenial heart disease and abnormalities in bones of the face and much more. So better get your kid in the sun for at least 30 minutes a day! And throw the vitamin pills in the bin.

# 5: In 1877 it was found that light can kill bacteria. Sunbathing for tuberculosis was once a very common treatment. As well as on streptococcal infections. Why not anymore these days? Well after they got Penicillin and Antibiotics (oh, we love them so much!) we forgot all about the sun. Taking a pill once again became the "easy" solution. So go in the sun when you have an infection and you will recover at least as twice as fast.

# 6: Food, water and the air nowadays are very polluted. An increase of toxins in our body over the last 50 years is proved. And guess what? If you get enough sunlight you body can remove the toxins twice as fast than without sunlight. Sunlight helps your body to get read of cancer causing substances. So who is telling us the sun causes cancer? It is the cancer healer!

# 7: Here is a great one if you want to become a mother: You might have heard of Jaundice - the yellow color in newborn babies. Well, if they are put in the sunlight the yellow color disappears. Bilirubin is the substance causing it - a pigment. The level is to high. Normally if the mother had Jaundice, it is very common that her children to develop it as well. But... and here I found some interesting stuff. I met many women in the past years who had Jaundice as a baby - including me - but who than when pregnant used to do lots of sunbathing. Their children did not develop Jaundice. I also found that women who avoid the sun, their babies most of the time develop Jaundice. I strongly believe that the high Bilirubin level in babies is caused from mothers who are not getting enough sunlight. I have not found any studies on this, but I saw it many times. Also it is NOT recommended to put the babies under intense blue light used in hospitals. Nobody knows the long range ill-effect these intense blue light can cause. And they far less effective than the sunlight, so better get them in the sun.

# 8: Sunlight is important for our mood. Nothing can lighten up your mind more than the sun. Our world is more and more on the harsh side. People living indoors most of the time. Work, Car, TV. If we go back to our roots, we were made to life outdoors most of the time. Hunting, collecting food. No wonder people nowadays need pills to get happy. I use to go on the beach at least once a week. It makes me happy for the rest of the week. And you? Are you happy? We are producing a substance called CAMP (cyclic adenosine menophosphate) if we are not exposed to sunlight. CAMP increases from polyunsaturated fats, adrenalin (stress), coffee, tea and chocolate. Are you living on these? CAMP is a very unhealthy substance in each cell of our body. But sunlight decreased the amount of CAMP in our body and makes us healthy and happy again. Are you a CAMPer?

# 9: Sunlight and Sexuality. For thousands of years human kind knows about the magic of the sun. Many ancient cultures had sun cults. The sun makes you look younger as it activates your cells and you get reed of the toxins. Dark eye rings disappear, brown skin makes you looking fresh. You appear more attractive to everybody - including your partner. Your body is getting fitter and only a fit body can enjoy sexuality. Only a strong gen wants to reproduce - via sexuality. The sunlight makes you relaxed enough to enjoy...

I have been thinking a lot about how the sun had an influence on our evolution. And it still has. In the last 20 - 30 years the marriage between light and dark skin people has doubled how many times? If you look around Bali you will find so many mixed marriages. This is not just the interest in a different culture. There is an evolution reason for it. As the radiation is raising human race has to find a way to survive. The only way to do so is to get darker skin. How you get darker skin if you blond and light skinned? You get married with a dark skinned person and your children stepped up the evolution staircase of surviving. Their skin is darker than yours and they will be able to survive the higher radiation. Evolution again selects the clever one to survive, as it did for millions of years. For me it is so ironic, that these facts put racists all over the world on the fool side. Light skin people are going to die out the same way as the dinosaurs did. Their time is running out, because they will not be able to cope with the higher radiation on our planet anymore.

If you live in Asia, you should always check if the cosmetic products you buying have whitening substances in it. As a newcomer many years ago I had to learn my lesson. For more than one year I used a lotion which I used back home too. I used to go in the sun a lot, but I just could not get a nice color. I always stayed pale, until one day I was reading the ingredients in my lotion and found... "whitening" written on the label. I could not believe my eyes. A normal lotion had whitening substances in it? The whitening thing is for me one of the real crazy ideas of beauty. There you go. You got these wonderful dark colored Bali women who just have the best protection for health and can go endless in the sun and boost their immune system. And they whitening their faces and bodies with cancer causing substances to look like zombies. I am very proud to say that I got several women radically of these craziness. I told them straight in the face that they look so ugly and they will get cancer when they get older. I know this is mean, but when I met them now they look beautiful again and I am so glad that I did it! And I will do it again...

UPDATE 22/07/2007: I have been researching a lot over the last months for new articles to come up. Via these researches I came across many articles which similar to mine are anti sun protection products. Just recently I got following additional information which is out of medical researches:

* Almost ALL sunscreen products have substances which can cause cancer.

* Additional if you block the sunlight out of your body you not getting enough Vitamin D. Vitamin D by now is proven to be a anti cancer radical. Means if you have high levels of Vitamin D in your body you have lower risk to develop any kind of cancer.

* Not getting enough sun kills more than 50000 people just in the USA!

* Using even small amounts of sunscreens can be dangerous. Tests with mice have shown even low levels killed cells.

* As I mention in my article it is now agreed that a healthy diet can prevent sunburns. Food such as spirulina, aloe vera and coconut oil can help to build a natural sunscreen in skin and eyes.

* Again. The whole sunscreen story is to make some people rich. The Sunscreen producers and the cancer treatment centers. Magazines which still promote sunscreens, which still advertise for sunscreens should be boycotted. It is harming our health what they doing out there...
