Artificial Vitamins and Minerals!

Hey, welcome to our new column at Bali for Kids. I hope over the next year I will be able to supply some good health info for you and your family. Some things you might read, might be new and radical. But they actually old knowledge bring into new form. In my practice I am working in a similar way as the old Balians (Medicine Healers with a spiritual touch) or the witches in the Western culture. Herbs, Jamu, Homeopathy, Flower Remedies and an individual diet. Please feel free to write to me via the Bali for Kids mails. So now lets get started with our first issue – Vitamins!

I am pretty sure that each of you has been taking vitamins at least once in their life time. Some take them every day. Unfortunately there are quite some reasons not to take them. I have been reading several articles and lots of books about health and basically the top nutrisens and naturopaths in the world agree in the point that artificial vitamins are dangerous! I put some little info together for you and hope next time when you in the supermarket, the vitamins stay there and the fresh vegetables, fish and fruits coming home with you. For the benefit of all your family! Please note, that some of the information is already published for more than 20 years in book. While lots of information about vitamins are giving to us as new find outs. Naturopaths know for many years about the danger of artificial vitamins.

Info #1: The best supply for vitamins is food. Experts guess – and that’s all they can do right now – that food contains more than 10000 substances. 6000 of them still unknown and unknown how they working. That this substances are in our food means you need them. Means you need to eat food and not just a 1% of what food contains via a pill. These days we taking vitamins because in fact we know that our food habit is not giving us the vitamins we need. But what we actually do is just to calm our conscience and helping industry to get very high profits.

Info # 2: Vitamin C for example can cause Kidney Stones and change the genetic code if you taking it over a long period. Eating lots of fruits and getting too much of vitamin C is no problem at all, as the body is just washing it out without any side effect. If you not sick – one kiwi or a red guava gives you enough vitamin C for one day. Several cups of Rosehip tea might bring you over a flu.

Info # 3: Vitamin A can damage your unborn baby. And Beta-Carotin – added to lots of processed food – and one of the best sellers for years, can cause lung cancer. The studies had to be stop before there was a final result!

Info # 4: Many water companies telling us today that we need water with added minerals and vitamins. But the simple fact: To get the minerals contained in 1 banana you would have to drink about 22 liters of mineral water! Water need to be as clean as possible. The more it can clean your body. The less toxics you store in your body. The less risk of getting sick.

Info # 5: Organic food contains up to 1000 times more vitamins and minerals as the supermarket version. The more “natural” vitamins your body gets – the less you eat. Just take the old people which had just plain and simple food all their lives. They strong and slim! And take some youngsters out of Burger Culture – overweight and easy sick. For example: to get the vitamins of one organic apple, you might have to have four. And than add the calories you eat more to get these vitamins… The best slimming diet you can get is eating natural prepared organic food. Eat less – but high quality!

Info # 6: Our bodies are as individual as we are. So the vitamin combination that works well for you might not work for your child or friend. Chinese Medicine and Naturopaths believe in a more individual diagnose system. Which works better on the every day base and helps to maintain health in long term. Orthodox medicine these days is gone too much in the fast function of the body. But your immune system needs time and rest to work out. Putting lots of vitamins and drugs in your body might cause long term damages to your body, which might not appear right away. For example: A child which gets regular treated with Antibiotics and gets lots of artificial vitamins, but not a whole diet, might at the age of 25 develop cancer or auto immune diseases, develop a Candida Infection, might be always sick and might have no energy. If than treatments might go on this way and no radical changes in the diet is done, this child will never be able to life a happy and healthy life. Once this child gets a child by its own – this child might have a low immune system, so this child might suffer from extreme allergies, leukemia and others. In industrial countries – as Germany, England, parts of Australia and America – this is already reality!

Info # 7: Some vitamins are only working if they come in a double pack. For example: Food containing 40mg of Vitamin C and 10 IU of vitamin E neutralize as many free radicals as 500mg vitamin C and 800 IU vitamin E from the drugstore. So better get that fresh Papaya juice with a bit of lime (higher in Vitamin C than lemon) in it!

Info # 8: People eating too much protein these days! So any supplements are usually absolutely unnecessary, except if you diagnosed with a deficient of Amino Acids. Protein is not stored in the body, but the body produces carbohydrate from it. This process taxes the kidneys and causes than lots of calcium in the urine. A condition very often see in pregnant women with a bad diet. In general it is most healthy to eat vegetarian. Even for children! As long as you add fresh sea fish and organic happy chicken eggs to your diet.

Info # 9: Follow your instincts. Your body normally knows best what it needs. If it tells you it wants to have a cucumber right now, than this is what you body needs right now. I am sure you also have sometimes a certain “craving” for a particular food. Well, get it. And if you feel like eating it all the time, get yourself checked. There might be an issue in your body – still deep under the surface, but food cravings are the first sign of something going wrong in the body. If you treat it right now, it will not grow up. For example: If you crave lots of white foods, such as white rice, white bread, cakes, you find yourself putting more and more of them into yourself. It might be a reverse reaction of your body. The body wants to have a full feeling, but indeed it wants to have vitamins and minerals. These cravings are often seen in small children, which are not getting a whole diet.

Info # 10: Children need more vitamins and minerals than you. They still need to build up their bodies. Not just to exchange cells. They need to build up a strong immune system to survive. If the diet is lacking vitamins and minerals, it is really not OK to give them one of these “Children Vitamin Cocktails”. Get them eating their vitamins and minerals via whole food. Difficult? Yes, but as a parent this is your most important job! Raise your child with the awareness of the contact between eating well and feeling well. Get your child to understand, that not a pill is the solution. You might end up with a drug addict in older years, as the pill was always the solution!

Finally said: Get good food, just don’t buy any vitamins, so you don’t have them at home. If you are living on a healthy diet, you also do not have to worry about major diseases, as chicken flu, malaria, Dengue Fever, Polio and others. Your immune system can deal with them if it is strong enough. My personal experience after 10 years in a tropical climate. I never had any Malaria, Amebas or TBC. Luckily? Not really. Living on a good vegetarian diet with fish and egg. Avoiding sugar, wheat, corn. It is not very difficult. And when you get sick just go for it. You might just need a good rest!
